Presentation for FLEX Alumni in American Council

Once again the American Council for International Education invited DRONI for cooperation. 25thJanuary a few EVS and local volunteers (Brais, Nini, Kalina, Liako and Kasia) visited the American Council and gave a presentation for a group of students, members of FLEX Alumni, about our activities. The meeting was held in a very friendly atmosphere.

Firstly, the volunteers started to give a short summary about DRONI’s historyand continued to explain the main topics on which DRONI provide activities. Afterwards, they presented the principles of the Youth in Action program, especially of those actions, in which neighboring partner countries – like Georgia  – are allowed to participate. The official presentation was completed by a short movie screening made by Brais about DRONI’s actions from the last few months and a presentation of DRONI’s ideas and plans for the next months.

In the end,our DRONI volunteers had a talk with the students about different aspects of volunteering. Nini and Liako spoke about how to link studies with being a local volunteer and what are advantages of being active in a local community. Brais, Kalina and Kasia shared their own experience about EVS. They were speaking how to apply for EVS and why they decided to do a voluntary service in Georgia.

Circus for Children’s Rights

One basic right for our future generations is that all human beings are born free and equal to each other.
Since the 1st of November, children from different backgrounds, coming from 3 different schools (School 23, Tbilisi Sea, Caucasus French Scool) have been learning to concentrate, be patient and tolerant as well as to express themselves in a non violent way through by-weekly circus activities. This was also meant to improve their team working and personal abilities.
Besides, for 6 weeks, these children have learnt about their basic rights and created posters about them.
A final performance made of circus sketches based on children’s rights, will gather these talents from various social, economic or ethnic origins and urge their audience to think about these basic rights. Children’s posters will be displayed as part of a contest to reward the most involved of them.
Two additional schools are joining this project ( School 198 and Marie Brosset) and will make a 20 minutes show on the very same issue. To see all the work that these 48 children have achieved, and to celebrate with us children’s rights, be part of this journey!

The event will take place on the 10th of December at 16.00 o’clock - address:
