RŪTA (Lithuania)
I am falling in love with Caucasus and I am very
sure that it was a good decision to come here as a volunteer. Why did I choose
vlunteering? I always wanted to explore new places, meet new people and to help
them. So, I am trying to do my best in here. Work with IDPs and migrants is
quite challenging, because you see their poor life and you want to change it,
but for that you have to find a way. I have my small kids here, who is
attending my english classes, willing to learn as much as possible and to have fun
at the same time. I am trying to raise their awereness about environmental
problems and to teach them how to use recycled materials in a creative way. I
am working on different projects related to women rights, migrants, human
rights. I organized the football match against rasism and fascism („Make your
stand“), also I implemented movie screenings for the 16 days campaign against violence
against gender („Voice and visibility“). I am sure that in the future I will do
even more.
I can say that I am fully
satissfied with my work here. I really enjoy having meetings with different
people from different organizations, it can broaden my mind and I can establish
good contacts that will help in a future. I enjoy my work, people who surrounds
me and definitely Georgia – full of unexplainable situations, craziness, beauty
in the nature and even much more. My home and my life.
