The intensive training course ‘’In media we trust?’’ which started in Rustavi, Georgia, continued in Erfurt, Germany with Youth Exchange. During the Training Course in Rustavi/Georgia participants gained skills and learnt methods how to teach media literacy to young people. This phase also included discussions about what is media literacy, the relevance of free, objective media and the threats from fake news and disinformation, examples of fact checking and media monitoring. Another part of the program was study visits in different media outlets.
The second phase took place 03-11 March, 2018 in Erfurt/Germany. The project gathered journalists and youth leaders from Georgia, Armenia, Denmark, Czech Republic, Montenegro and Germany. Participant from the first phase provided workshops about 4 different topics connected to media. Together with new participants they attended workshops, took part in simulation games and visited the regional public TV broadcaster - Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR).
Participants learnt how to make radio production, interview, podcasts and radio editing programs. Later they used gained theoretical knowledge in practice. In different groups they prepared radio pieces about Women March, Funny stories connected to Social Media, Internet trolls, time machine and etc. In the end of the week radio pieces made by participants where developed and published in a live radio show at Radio F.R.E.I.
